Xfce4 Volstatus Icon is an open source software that resides in the system tray area and acts as a helper for easily and quickly ejecting removable devices from your system. The software is free for download and use, and can be installed on any GNU/Linux operating system (32-bit and 64-bit). By default, Xfce4 Volstatus Icon is a daemon that runs in the background and monitors removable drivers. When a removable media is inserted, an icon will appear in the system tray, allowing users to easily, efficiently and safely unmount (eject) the volume(s), without needing to open the Xfce Terminal or the Thunar file manager. The project has been designed to work only with the Xfce desktop environment, but we have successfully test it under other open source desktop environments, such as GNOME, MATE, LXDE and Cinnamon.
