Basic Blind Chess is a free, open source and multiplatform chess board and puzzle game, implemented in Python/PyGame, where the player needs to press the mouse button to open a piece in the board and drag it to move or capture other pieces of different color. This game is also known as s Dark Chess, Half Chess or Banqi. It can be played by a single player, on a 4x8 grid, against the computer (AI). Basic Blind Chess uses the Taiwan rule with the basic minimax tree structure, an advanced algorithm called Alpha-Beta Pruning, as well as various other rules. When starting a new game, pawns will be automatically placed on the board, so players can play Basic Blind Chess immediately. While following its rules, players are free to experiment with the game. A game can be easily restarted at any point.
