Archboot is an open source and freely distributed software project designed as part of the Arch Linux operating system, providing users with a collection of shell scripts for downloading and installing a barebone Arch Linux OS from the Internet. The project is designed for installation or rescue operations. Think of Archboot as a netboot flavor for Arch Linux. With Archboot you will be able to install Arch Linux directly from the Internet, without the need to download and burn an ISO image on a CD or USB media. Archboot can also be used to successfully rescue existing, yet broken Arch Linux installations. It uses the hwdetect utility and a different install script, taken from the official Arch Linux installation images. It runs entirely in RAM using iniramfs.
