srm 1.2.15 Description:
srm for Linux : An Open Source secure replacement for the rm command found in all Linux distributions
srm (also known as secure rm) is an open source command-line software that replaces the regular ‘rm’ command that is available in the majority of the Linux-based operating systems with a secure one. The program has been engineered in such a way that it will overwrite file contents before removing or unlinking them. In addition, secure rm is compatible with the “rm” command, and its ultimate goal is to offer a more secure method for erasing files, in order to prevent recovery of deleted information. Should be used in all GNU/Linux systems
