ObexFTP is an important, free and open source command-line software project that has been engineered to enable users to easily and quickly access the internal memory of a mobile device from a GNU/Linux console environment. The ObexFTP project is a library, an implementation of the Object Exchange (OBEX) protocol, a binary HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) protocol. Among the supported mobile devices, we can mention Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, and Sony-Ericsson. ObexFTP is mostly used to access a mobile phone’s memory, in order to store and retrieve the device’s phonebook, ringtones, logos, pictures, music, etc. It only supports GNU/Linux and UNIX-like operating systems, running well on both 32-bit and 64-bit computers.
