Cedar Backup 2.24.2 Description:
Cedar Backup for Linux : A Python package for backing up files from local and remote Linux and BSD machines
Cedar Backup is an open source, cross-platform and free software project that has been designed from the ground up to be used on top of a GNU/Linux or UNIX-like environment to manage system backups. Itís a command-line application that can be used from within a X11 terminal emulator or straight from a console environment. The program has been engineered in such a way that it can manage backups for multiple remote or local computers at the same time, being capable of writing backups to CD or DVD media. It supports multiple backup sources, such as filesystem, revision control repositories, database repositories, and many others. Another interesting feature is the ability to create regular backups every week on a specific day, especially at the beginning of the week. Please note that you must change the backup media (CD or DVD) weekly, otherwise the data will be overwritten, if possible.
