sysfunc is an open source and portable command-line software project, a library that contains a set of shell functions specifically designed to help UNIX/Linux sysadmins do various system administration tasks. It is fully compatible with the Bash and KSH (Korn Shell) shells. Key features include file copy, file and folder deletion, symbolic link management, user and group management, line replacement, data block replacement in a file, commenting and uncommenting of lines, logical volume, volume group and filesystem creation, as well as service management. At the moment, the sysfunc shell library has been successfully tested with major GNU/Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, Debian, Slackware, Arch Linux and openSUSE, as well as with various BSD flavors, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX operating systems. It’s designed from the offset to support any Unix/Linux system and can be downloaded only as a source archive.
