ANTLR (also known as Another Tool for Language Recognition) is a free, open source and very powerful command-line software implemented in Java and designed from the offset to act as a parser generator for manipulating binary and structured text files. The application was previously known as PCCT and it can read, execute, process or translate binary files or structured text. In other words, it’s a framework for constructing compilers, translators and recognizers from grammatical descriptions that contain C++, Java, Python or C# actions. ANTLR is mostly used for building tools, frameworks and languages. It includes support for tree walking, tree construction and translation. Various command-line options are implemented in the program, allowing users to interact with the program through a terminal emulator.
