Introduction

RoverLog is intended to act as a rudimentary contest logging program (yikes! it's almost not rudimentary any more!) for VHF/UHF contests. The original specification for this program was written by Sigurd Kimpel, KJ1K. The actual program was written by Tom Mayo, N1MU. The program is distributed under the Gnu Public License, which basically means the source code must always be kept free.

Requirements

To use RoverLog, you must have Tcl/Tk installed. Tcl/Tk is a windowed scripting language. For example, to install Tcl/Tk for Windows9x, select this link: tcl805.exe Once you have installed Tcl/Tk and RoverLog, run with "./roverlog.tcl", "wish roverlog.tcl", or "wish80 RoverLog.tcl", or if your setup is correct, you can just double click on roverlog.tcl. Under Windows you should be able to double click on the script.

Features

Logging is performed using an entry dialog in the Main Window and logs are stored as plain text files.

If you wish to perform automatic position detection using an NMEA GPS receiver, run "tclsh gps.tcl" first. This provides a server which may be polled for the current grid square. This only works under Linux so far.
